Your information, with care.

This page explains how Botanica uses information when you browse botanica.living, place an order, sign up for store emails or contact us.

Checkout and your order

Checkout takes place on Stripe. It collects your payment details, name, email, delivery address and phone number. We receive the contact, delivery and transaction information needed to process your purchase, prevent duplicate orders, provide support and handle refunds. Full card numbers and card security codes are not stored by our storefront.

Stripe keeps payment and order records and uses information for payment processing and fraud prevention under its privacy policy. Checkout may use Stripe’s own cookies and payment features.

We use Resend to send a confirmation after Stripe verifies payment for your order. This includes the email address you entered at checkout, purchased items, totals, delivery address and a private order-status link. These service emails are separate from optional marketing and do not require newsletter signup. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop messages needed for your purchase. We keep limited delivery records to prevent duplicate confirmations and investigate delivery problems.

Making and delivering your shirt

We share your purchased items, name, delivery address and contact details with our production and fulfillment partners so they can make your order and arrange delivery. These partners and shipping carriers use the information needed to fulfill and track your shipment.

Your bag and browsing

We save your selected items, quantities and a checkout reference in your browser’s local storage so your bag survives a refresh. This saved bag does not contain your address or payment details. Remove the items or clear this site’s browser data to clear it.

Optional Google Ads measurement is described below. Our hosting and security services process technical request information, such as IP address and browser details, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare’s handling of this information is explained in its privacy policy.

Optional store emails

If you choose to sign up, we collect your email address, selected topics, signup and confirmation times, and a record of your consent. We use these details to confirm your request and send the Botanica updates you choose. Updates are sent at most once a week, when there is new content matching your topics. Placing an order does not subscribe you, and email signup is never required to shop.

We use Resend to deliver these emails. It receives your email address, the email content and delivery information needed to provide that service. See Resend’s privacy policy. We keep delivery, bounce and complaint records to manage delivery and prevent unwanted messages. Our application does not collect email-open or link-click events. We do not sell our subscriber list, and signing up does not give permission for advertising measurement.

Confirm your signup using the link we email you. Unconfirmed signups are removed after seven days. We keep subscription and consent records as needed to provide updates and honor your choices. Each marketing email includes links to change your topics or unsubscribe without signing in. Unsubscribing stops future marketing emails; messages needed for orders or support are separate. An email already being delivered may still arrive.

You may also contact us to unsubscribe or request deletion. When we delete a subscription, we retain a limited suppression record, including a one-way hash of the email address, to avoid emailing it again. A hash is not necessarily anonymous information. Keep your email preference links private: anyone with the link can change those choices.

Support, records and your choices

If you join an eligible signup tree offer, we retain a limited keyed digest of your email address and a funding record to honor the commitment and prevent repeat rewards. Your email address is not sent to the tree provider. The digest is not necessarily anonymous information. An earned tree commitment survives unsubscribe or subscription deletion; we keep the minimum record needed to honor it. See the signup tree terms for the current offer.

If you allow advertising measurement, we load the Google Ads tag on public shop pages. Google receives information about page visits, ad-click identifiers, browser and device details, and technical connection data, and may use advertising measurement cookies. We keep personalization disabled. The tag is not loaded on private order-status or email-preference pages. Our measurement configuration excludes query strings, fragments, private links and customer contact details. See Google’s privacy policy.

When optional ad measurement is enabled, the Advertising privacy choices control lets you allow or decline it. It starts off. With permission, we send Meta a purchase event containing the purchased product IDs, quantity, value excluding tax, currency, payment time, a pseudonymous event reference, browser information and a hashed email address for matching and measuring Facebook and Instagram ads. Hashing does not make this information anonymous. Meta handles it under its privacy policy. We do not send your private order link, address or payment-card details for advertising. No Meta browser pixel is loaded.

Your advertising choice is stored in a first-party cookie for six months. Google’s tag stays unloaded until you allow measurement, and a previous Meta-only choice does not enable it. Declining leaves checkout available. Use Advertising privacy choices to withdraw permission for future measurement; this cannot recall events already sent. We honor Global Privacy Control by blocking measurement. Withdrawing permission reloads the page to stop the loaded Google tag. Clearing site data resets the choice to off. Our Meta purchase measurement covers consenting buyers who return to their order page within 24 hours of payment; it does not count every purchase.

We do not respond separately to the older Do Not Track browser setting. Global Privacy Control is honored for optional advertising measurement as described above. Newsletter signup and unsubscribe choices remain separate from these browser signals.

If you email us, we use your message, contact details and any order information or photos you provide to answer and resolve your request. Please do not send full payment-card details. Keep your private order-status link private, too: anyone with that link can view the limited order and tracking information it displays.

Order and support records are kept as needed for fulfillment, support, accounting, fraud prevention and legal obligations. You can email [email protected] to ask about, correct or request deletion of your information. We may need to verify your identity or retain records that are required for those purposes. Advertising measurement is optional as described above. We do not add you to marketing emails just because you place an order.

Privacy requests and California visitors

Contact [email protected] to request access to, correction of or deletion of your information. Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have additional rights, including rights under California privacy law to know about personal information collected, request deletion or correction, and opt out of its sale or sharing. You can decline optional advertising measurement through Advertising privacy choices or Global Privacy Control. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights. We may need information to verify a request before disclosing or changing records.
